Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Reykjavik

   Depart 18:00

   Iceland

Reykjavik, the world's northernmost capital, distils the entire improbable beauty of Iceland into one compact, creatively charged city. The soaring basalt columns of Hallgrímskirkja dominate a skyline of primary-coloured rooftops, while the Harpa Concert Hall shimmers beside the harbour like a captured aurora. Day trips from the city unlock the Golden Circle's geysers and Geysir hot spring, the black sand beaches of Vík, and the ethereal glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón. Geothermal pools — from the legendary Blue Lagoon to intimate neighbourhood hot pots — offer warmth year-round. June and July bring the bewitching midnight sun.

3. Day 3

   At Sea

4. Day 4

   Tasiilaq

   Greenland

Tasiilaq is the largest settlement in East Greenland with just 2,000 residents, one of the most remote inhabited communities on Earth, surrounded by the spectacular Sermilik Icefjord, massive glaciers, and tundra that blooms intensely during the brief Arctic summer. Must-dos include a boat trip through the iceberg-filled Sermilik Icefjord, hiking the Valley of Flowers, and watching traditional tupilak carving and drum dancing. Visit August for the warmest weather and best icefjord access.

5. Day 5

   Skjoldungen

   Greenland

Skjoldungen, Greenland is a distinctive port city where deep cultural heritage meets authentic local atmosphere, featured on itineraries by Ponant. Must-do experiences include exploring the historic quarter to absorb centuries of architectural heritage, and sampling the distinctive northern cuisine that transforms local ingredients into refined dining experiences. The optimal time to visit is June through August, when summer months bring the warmest temperatures and longest days.

6. Day 6

   Prince Christian Sound

   Greenland

Prince Christian Sound is Greenland's most dramatic navigable passage — a forty-kilometer corridor between thousand-meter cliffs and hanging glaciers that expedition ships from Seabourn to Silversea transit when ice conditions permit. Navigate July through September for humpback whale encounters, iceberg-studded waters, and the visceral Arctic experience that empties every cabin and fills every open deck regardless of weather.

7. Day 7

   Hvalsey

   Greenland

Hvalsey, Greenland is a distinctive port city where deep cultural heritage meets authentic local atmosphere, featured on itineraries by Ponant. Must-do experiences include exploring the historic quarter to absorb centuries of architectural heritage, and sampling the distinctive northern cuisine that transforms local ingredients into refined dining experiences. The optimal time to visit is June through August, when summer months bring the warmest temperatures and longest days.

8. Day 8

   Hvalso (Greenland)

Around you, a grassy meadow filled with flowers stretches out, dotted with imposing granite rocks. A few semi-wild sheep and horses greet you; they are the only inhabitants of this place surrounded by beautiful mountains. You are in Hvalsø, in the heart of the fertile lands in Greenland’s south. During the 10th century, this site was colonised by the Vikings, who established a large community here. When your ship calls at these lands brimming with history, you will see the ruins of a church whose remains are still very well preserved. It was most likely built in the 14th century. It has lost its timber roof, but its four stone walls continue to stand proudly as a moving relic of a long-gone era.

9. Day 8

   Igaliku

10. Day 9

    Nuuk Godthaab

    Greenland

Nuuk, Greenland's diminutive capital, is a city of vivid contrasts — colourful colonial houses against Arctic granite, Inuit heritage alongside contemporary Nordic culture, and world-class museums steps from untamed fjords. Visitors should not miss the Greenland National Museum's Qilakitsoq mummies and a Zodiac excursion into the surrounding iceberg-studded fjord system. The prime cruising season runs from June through September, when extended daylight illuminates the landscape in an ethereal sub-Arctic glow and waters remain navigable for expedition vessels.

11. Day 10

    Sisimiut

    Greenland

Sisimiut is Greenland's adventure capital, a colourful Arctic town of 5,500 people just north of the Arctic Circle on the west coast. Must-dos include hiking the Arctic Circle Trail, whale watching for humpbacks and narwhals, and exploring the colonial-era museum. Summer brings midnight sun and hiking conditions, while winter offers dog-sledding, skiing, and northern lights.

12. Day 11

    Eqi Glacier

    Greenland

Eqi Glacier is a spectacular five-kilometre-wide tidewater glacier in western Greenland where visitors can witness enormous icebergs calving in real time with thunderous crashes into the fjord. The approach through iceberg-strewn waters reveals a glacier face over two hundred metres high, with humpback whales often feeding nearby. July and August offer the best conditions for visiting, with access from Ilulissat or expedition cruise ships.

13. Day 12

    Disko Bay

    Greenland

Disko Bay is Greenland's monumental iceberg gallery, where the world's most prolific glacier discharges bergs of hundred-meter scale into a UNESCO-adjacent bay that functions as a constantly refreshed Arctic sculpture garden. Navigate July through August via Hapag-Lloyd or Ponant for zodiac cruises between towering icebergs, humpback whale bubble-net feeding, and the Inuit cultural encounters that provide human context for life at 69°N latitude.

14. Day 13

    Disko Bay (Greenland)

To the east of Baffin Bay, discover Disko Bay, scattered with countless icebergs produced by the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From your ship, admire the majestic ballet of these ice giants as they slowly drift across the dark waters. This site is a natural marvel of Greenland, and is also renowned as an observation point for the region’s many humpback whales. The encounters with wild fauna and stunning landscapes in the heart of this spectacular and fragile nature will be pure moments of wonder for you.

15. Day 14
